Many years ago, Nina Barton and I started writing game guides for CD-ROM computer games, published by the delightfully crazy people at Brady Books. In July of 1997, we had the opportunity to fly out to Spokane, Washington, to work with the development team at Cyan on their long-awaited sequel to Myst -- Riven. Most of our work, though, was carried out long-distance, with us talking to the developers by phone as we tried to work our way through their game ... often while they were still in the process of writing it and making last-minute changes!

It's all still a bit bewildering. I mean, these people at Brady were actually paying us to sit around and play computer games? ...

The latest note on this group of works is that Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny had been reprinted in German (as Lands of Lore: Gotterdammerung) and Baldur's Gate in Chinese!
