Title............................................................. Year.....
ISBN.......................... Publisher This is a series that should have gone somewhere but, sadly, didn't. It's basically military action-adventure set in (what was then) the near future (2005) and involving submarine technology now on the drawing boards. Among other things, the U.S. managed to buy up a couple of Typhoons (you know, the BIG suckers) from the economically strapped Russians and turn them into submarine carriers. I got to play around a lot with concepts like heavier-than-water fighter subs that literally fly through the ocean, and blue-green laser imaging technology for viewing the boat's surroundings, all long before SeaQuest DSV came along. Note especially the covers by John Berkey, my favorite cover artist. All text copyright (c) William H. Keith |
